From my view point, the latewood bands on the wooden floor makes it appear to be southern yellow pine.

Am I correct? Where in your house is that?

Pine indeed, though still plywood. Someday we'll have a finished floor.

Most plywood these days are made from southern yellow pine. Back in our parent's and grandparent's day, most plywood was made from Douglas fir.
